are able to distinguish exact ID devices within a Fire Alarm system
Older systems simply had a number of devices (smoke detectors or break glass call points)
connected in a "Zone" type fashion. This can prove to be a problem when trying to resolve
which of these devices is the cause of "false" alarms.
Today's systems offer pre-warning thresholds that alert you to a slow change in thresholds
set since the system was commissioned. This allows an engineer to investigate the cause
and prevent a costly building evacuation
