About PES Fire & Security Systems

Building Community, Growing Talent: How PES’s Community Work Shapes a Caring Team Culture

At PES Fire & Security Systems, we believe that securing homes and businesses is only part of what we do. Ultimately, it's about protecting people too. That's why, we put people first, both the people we protect in the wider community, and the people who work alongside us. For example, our community involvement with schools, clubs, and charitable organisations isn’t just something we do. Moreover, it helps shape a welcoming culture, especially for new engineering recruits.

Real Community Connections

On our PES Fire & Security Blog, we feature stories about our community engagement. For example, like upgrading CCTV at Penyrheol Leisure Centre and installations at the Maesteg Campus of NPTC College. These are real-world contributions that support education and local safety.

We support Matthew’s House, a local charity in Swansea, in practical ways: offering advice, helping with security and being there when needed. Clients praise our team of engineers for going “above and beyond” when working with the charity.

At PES, we see mental health as every bit as important as physical health. That’s why we proudly engage with Grub Talks which is a fantastic local group where men from all walks of life come together and share a few hours each month to meet, eat, and talk openly. For us, being involved in initiatives like Grub Talks isn’t just about community outreach, it’s about nurturing wellbeing, understanding, and resilience within our own team and beyond.
Also, we show how we invest in people and regularly post about apprenticeships and new engineer joiners. For example, people like Ollie, our latest apprentice, joined the install team.

What that Means for New Recruits

A sense of purpose: Working for PES means more than installing alarms. It means helping protect local institutions, supporting charities, and contributing to safer communities. That's why we believe our recruits quickly understand their role has a wider impact.

Respect and support: By seeing the company actively doing good, recruits enter an environment where kindness and helping others are core values that we expect to accompany their technical skill.

Growth opportunities: Through real, hands-on community projects, apprentices and new engineers gain variety, exposure, and responsibility early on.

Pride in the workplace: When your employer is known for making a difference locally, it builds pride. It becomes a place you’re happy to belong to, not just a job.

More Than Security: A Culture That Cares

PES isn’t just about fire alarms, access control, intruder systems, and CCTV. It’s about community, about people, both inside and outside the company. For those starting their career in engineering, it’s a chance to join a team that cares. Where your work actually helps others, where your growth is supported, and where culture matters.
